Layering a Landscape in September
You will complete a 6x8 inch wall art piece of a landscape that will encourage viewers to "look into" your work. You will learn how to add elements punctuating your works using sheet glass and powder wafers, gold and Reusche black kiln fired paints that add texture and detail. You will be led to explore the unique effects and unlimited possibilities that these materials can add to your creations.
You will also learn strategies and techniques for displaying your work with the goal of keeping the translucence of the glass even though it is being displayed on a wall.
Concepts and Techniques Covered in this Workshop include:
Composition success with space and color.
Understanding color schemes.
Drawing from photos utilizing space.
Translating a sketch to a glass composition.
Underpainting and finding light.
Adding texture and detail to glass.
