Treed Landscape Panel in Glass 8/9, 10

In this 2 day class you will experience a variety of methods in glass fusing. Building your landscape, you will use glass powder, sheet glass, glass frit, and glass stringers. You will do some simple glass cutting and glass assembly . Your instructor, Alice Benvie Gebhart, is an experienced glass artist and art educator. She will guide you through your choices, help you with your glass construction and take you through the process with ease. The best part is having a beautiful completed piece to commemorate the experience. Pick up your piece in one week following the class. Friday Evening, August 9th from 6-7:30 and Saturday August 10th from 2:00-4:00.

Create geometric patterns using thin strips of glass and small thick squares of clear glass. The construction of stringers along with the placement of the thick small glass squares will create a spectacular distortion done with help from the heat of our glass kiln. Perfect for the beginner.

Learning the Basics: Basic Fusing and Slumping in Glass 9/8, 15, 22, 2024

In this 3 week workshop, you will learn the basics and be introduced to many fundamental concepts related to glass. You will use various forms of glass such as powdered glass and sheet glass. You will explore fusing, slumping, cold working and stenciling. Each week you will explore a new method and make a project. Space is limited for individual attention and taught by a certified teacher and glass artist.
There is no need for any previous experience. Just your excitement to learn new things is required! You will walk away with four completed projects and the knowledge to create beautiful glass pieces on your own.
Studio and kiln rental time are open to those who complete this course.

Beyond the Basics
In this 3 week course, you will build on the basic skills and be introduced to many more concepts related to glass. You will use and create various forms of glass such as pattern bars, vitrigraph stringer, and part sheets. You will extend your skills in fusing, slumping and cold working . Each week you will explore different methods to build your repertoire and learn to operate shop glass machinery for cold working and kiln forming. Space is limited for individual attention.

Sorry but there is no opportunity to "make up" or alter class times or projects due to kiln firings and studio time.

You will have the opportunity, during the first 3 hour session, to create your own silk screen from a photo or other image. Learn how to transfer your photo, along with designs and patterns onto glass surfaces. The second session, your images will be combined to create a stunning and personal glass panel.
Certified glass instructor, Alice Gebhart will guide you through each step of the process, ensuring you gain the skills and confidence to produce your own printed glass artwork.

All you do is pick a kit, pick it up from the shop, then complete your project when you'd like. After completing, drop ALL SUPPLIES off at the shop for us to fire up in our specialty designed glass kilns.

If you drop your completed project off on a Wednesday, it will be done by Saturday.
